AVOID AT ALL COSTS! FOR GOD'S SAKE USE THE OTHER PROF! His midterms are completely subjective. Ex. What is the main problem with this definition? There are 3 problems all equally bad. Hopefully you can mind read. Nobody got over 80%.

Pretty decent prof, he has a weird sense of humor that I cant help but laugh at. He does what he can to teach the content, it was a challenging course. But recommended.

Although the Course is difficult and even when you think you understand you receive poor grades upon returned assignments. Professor Campbell encourages class discussion and helps you work through and problems with concepts so your not confused moving on with the rest of the topics.

worst prof ever, horrible. Expects way too much. Three 1200 word essays and then multiple choice sections for a final exam is completely unreasonable. Fell asleep in his lectures twice. Painfully boring.

DO NOT TAKE A CLASS FROM THIS PROFESSOR. The expectations for this 200 level class were higher than the realistic levels of 3/400 classes. The prof only wants you to parrot what he says in class. Be prepared to teach yourself a large portion of the class; his lectures are terrible. I will never take a class from him again.

i found him to be repetitive and found it hard to stay awake in this class. Assignments are online and u can give yourself 100% on each one if u want. The first midterm was brutal but the second midterm and the final were fairly easy. When he tells u what to focus on for the exams. ONLY study that stuff because you wont need to know the other stuf

So boring. All we learned about was crows and whales. Easy assignments if you check the website- he never announced them in class. I wouldn't take this class if I didn't have to. (But came out with a 75%)

Class/material is amazing and interesting, and he himself as a teacher is really thorough, obviously knowledgeable, detailed, and clear with everything he says. But very, very hard. We were not given enough time on the mid-term for the amount he wanted us to write, and I feel the term paper is too long for a 200 level class.

Very percise and less intimadating then he seems. Helpful. I knew i was going to have difficulties going into this class... but i couldn't of asked for a better prof! He seems to understand that people may have a hard time with the subject! I would suggest taking this class from him!

I have taken several classes with this professor. He is one of the most clear and thorough professors that I have encountered. He really works hard to help his students understand the material. You CAN get great marks from him - to do so, you must be very precise with your language and you must present your ideas clearly. Great prof!!

a nice guy but extremely difficult to listen to & keep interest in what he's saying. assigns a LOT of reading for each class & his hand gestures are very distracting. the worst part is that he only tells you a week or two before when your exams are going to be which is SOO frustrating!! even for the final. not cool

Campbell doesn't teach philosophy, he teaches the memorization and regurgitation of its so-called "problems". While this strategy works particularly well in subjects like history and language, I have a concern with its use in philosophy; since the virtue of critical analysis is meaningless if it doesn't agree precisely with his view of the norms.

prof was really nice and had a slow, in depth style of teaching. hard marker though, and this class (200 level) was worse than other 300 and 400's i've taken. do not take unless you have to. nice guy, but his marking and expectations (very long paper) are enough to discourage the class.

I've taken 4 classes with this dude, every one of them a challenge and every completion a reward in itself. If you are looking for an easy class this is not it. If you're looking to learn a lot, you've come home. Grading is fair, he likes me but when I make a mistake I pay for it. Don't take notes u cant keep up, just listen and assimilate.

The guy really knows his stuff and unfortunatly expects you to know it as good as he does. Out of all of my classes including some 400 level Phil classes this 200 level class was the hardest, kinda messed up. Hard marker, don't try to improvise just repeat what he said in class. By the way you had better be able to write very very very very fast!!!

Seems interesting and clear enough, but never quite turns out that way for marking. Agree that his marking system is hard to understand, possibly incomprehensible. You either love him or not. And he seems to feel the same way about students and grades follow accordingly. Not very helpful...waste of a class really.

Even though he provides you with every questoin that will be on a test beforehand, if you don't write pretty much exactly what is in the textbook you will get less than 5/10. He also isn't very leniant with missing tests for illnesses or other emergencies.. you don't get to do make ups.

Worst prof ever. I hated this class, and hardly went. All he did was read out of the text book. I studied very hard, and had confidence that I had good marks on the midterms, and final, but I still had a very low final grade. Terrible teacher, wouldn't recommend him to anyone.
