Comment:
Book production was a confusing class. There was no leadership taking place, we would walk into class and sit down, and sometimes she wouldn't address the class so we'd just start working on projects. Most days, half of the class left early and she never said a word. Easy class, intensely boring at times.

You are to read a poem or work before every class to discuss for the class, but I never did. Never even bought the book. Simply looked up summaries on the piece.

I guarantee she will be late to every single one of your classes. She picks great material, but relies on her students for class. Never learnt anything more than what Wikipedia says about the book.

Though she seems like a nice person, her teaching style is awful, just simply summarizing what happened in the literature. Found out I didn't need english and immediately dropped it because I was terrified of her exam, since she never actually taught a thing. Tough marker but allows you to redo your papers for a combined average mark. Dont take!

Miriam Jones gives you the chance to get extra credit. However, that is probably the only good thing about that class. She is an insanely hard marker and is not fair. She is always late and takes forever to mark work. Assignments do not show accurate student progress and she does not prepare you for the exam. Never taking her again.

Probably the worst class and professor of my university experience! Completely unorganized and constantly late. Class content lacked everything, she basically re-worded the short paragraph before the play in the textbook and that was it. Does not go into depth on anything. If you want to learn don't bother taking any class Jones teaches.

Dr. Jones is an unorganized mess. By the end of semester we had missed over 3 classes (due to her constantly being over 10 minutes late and then letting us go an hour early). Handing in an assignment? Don't worry about recieveing your mark for another month! Out of 12 classes, I learned more from Wikipedia. Relies on class blog instead of syllabus.

Nice person, but the classes lacked substance and the assignments were not a good representation of a students accomplishments. It seemed as though the lecture was a not very amusing theatrical performance-- the crickets were certainly cherping. I wont take her again.. a pity because she teaches some courses that sound rather interesting.

Great professor, mentor, and role model. This lady knows her stuff. Dr. J. is professional, respectful, and very compassionate. Her classes are structured to encourage students to become actively involved in their learning. Finally, someone who is preparing students for the real world. Take a class from Dr. J. - you won't regret it.

She is a very nice professor. I underestimated her qualities at first but later found her to be a very kind person who takes interest in her students. Her classes are fun but I would have liked her to lecture more and have less class discussion. I did not find her to be extremely helpful. She just needs to tweak these areas to make her exceptional

Jones is a very nice person. Very willing to listen to students. However, it is true that she was consistently arriving late to class, and she does take forever to mark things. Plus, if you are not into computers or the internet, do not take her class because she is very much into technology and she insists that her students should be too.

A very good teacher, if a bit hard. It is true that she is always 5+ minutes late for class and that it takes a long time to get things marked. However, she is very flexible with handing things in, especially if you're trying to get a writing centre appointment. Also, she lets you re-submit your essays once they are marked and averages the marks.

hm...she seems like an ok person but didn't really care for the assignment topics... takes forever to return tests and marked assignments...but is quite flexible on handing things in. Didn't mind her teaching at all... just had personal dislikes about her.. would take another class of hers anytime.

If the goal of a university education is to open the minds of students, Dr. Jones is doing it right. She does not stuff students' brains with her own thoughts but provides material and opens discussion to encourage students to think for themselves. And oh yes...wicked sense of humour!

If what was said about her lateness was true, she must have improved...never late once to our class. Assignments sometimes a little long coming back but with biweekly tests and other major assignments there was plenty to mark. Very interested in the topic and in her students. ++class participation

If you like a prof who takes months to hand back assignments take classes from her. Ends early and is always late. Sets a horrible example. Don't know anyone who liked her class. Must enter positive comments on this site herself.

As a marker, she's cruel but fair. Great lecturer. Always terrifically prepared. Maybe too much class discussion, but that's only because she's actually interested in what students have to say (which makes a nice change).
