If you ever have the opportunity to take one of Sheila's classes, DO IT. She is extremely clear about what she wants and if you do what she asks, you will get an A. She clearly loves the material she teaches and makes her students really understand the material. LOVED her

excellent. the lectures were very interesting and encouraging class participation provided a twist both as a presenter and an observer. she is always available and very passionate about her research. she made me intrigued with the course content and made me contemplate switching departments. the research paper was difficult but i learned a lot.

The 2 mid-term exams were fair- all multiple choice. 4 reserach projects were frustrating- no point really. She is very animated, she seems nice. Don't take this course if you don't need it.

i liked this class. THe MT's were at an appropriate level..one thing I really appreciated was that she gave us "2" deadlines. I found this very helpful because it showed that she understood that we have "other" deadlines to meet.

I found her to be entirely approachable, and more than willing to help with papers, midterms, or anything else. She is very passionate about her subject and really likes to talk about infants!!! She's the reason that I chose to minor in FMST.

A professor who challenges students to critically think about the information in the text and lectures so they actually learn it. If you complain that it is a hard class and it was supposed to be an elective, step back and evaluate why you are in university! It's not supposed to be easy.

Engaging lecturer. Hard paper, but more than willing to help you with it if you ask for it. Not an easy course, but definately worth the effort. You will see an improvement across the board if you actually try to take something out of this class. Don't use it as an easy elective, its not.

hated her class. made us do a really hard paper instead of focusing on the textbook and material appropriate to the level of the class. a supposed elective, turned out to be my worse class!

Very energetic, nice person, tries to make her classes fun. BUT, didn't learn about parent-child relations (the course name) b/c almost the whole term was focused on writing a very boring, very difficult analysis about research assumptions and methods. NOT a fun course. Harder than necessary.

Horrible prof. She opens on the first day by saying that she doesn't want second years at all in the course. Then proceeds to tell us that since we're mostly third years, that she'll have to talk down to our level. THANKS FOR NOTHING!

text was good, need to read to do well on mts, lecture notes are important too, entertaining lecturer, little assignments aren't too bad:I'd suggest finding articles ahead of time, gives out essay qs for final so just prep answers for them to ace it

Comment:
Sheila is really not as hard as people make her sound. She just expects students to have skills that we should have after a few years in school. Think, think, think and you'll do fine.
