Comment:
This class is experimental so there is no structure to it. I don't now how he is when he is in his comfort zone, American Lit, but he has no idea what he's doing when it comes to new media. He's passionate but very unfamiliar with how online writing is actually like. We only sit around and talk about how much we hate this class.

Great prof for a writing workshop. Gives very helpful comments on your non-fiction pieces. He's very helpful if you go to his office hours.

Really really hard grader, it was shocking sometimes. I went to office hours, the writing center, got help from friends. But still. I gave up, and got a B for my efforts. Poor class though, felt like there was no structure- first edition of the class.

I was prepared to work hard and I did but it doesn't matter. The amount of work and effort does not matter for him. I've never had an issue in English classes ever except this one. I went to office hours, writing centers, revised paper, everything I could and he would not give an inch.I will never take his class again.

He seems like a nice guy, but no matter how hard you work, he won't give you better than a B. This was the most discouraging class I've ever had at F&M, but if you don't care about your grade, the class is somewhat interesting and he is enthusiastic about the material.

Prof. Steinbrink and I just never connected. He wasn't terrible, but he was far from fueling passion for the subject.

Jeff is brilliant. I hung on his every word in class because he is so eloquent and so insightful. He also looks like a praying mantis.

Very cool, laid-back kind of guy. If you take his classes, be prepared to go to all kinds of craft talks and poetry readings, because if you don't, he'll know and he'll hunt you down. I don't have much appreciation for English, but it was a fun class.

Great guy. Some of the assignments are a bit vague/pointless (specially the poets corner, presentation-on-whatever-we're-doing-now stuff). Good teacher though, we do get into the material
