One of the best profs I've had at Uni. I've taken Chem-1111, Chem-1112 and more with him. My favourite Chemistry prof. Best to take if you're a first year!

Great guy and a great prof. This is the second class I've had with Dr. Goltz and I have no complaints thus far. He loves to rip questions from the textbook for exams. Just note that the lab portion is brutal for this class

Greatest prof i've had yet. Hilarious in class and makes what is usually a boring class very fun. His tests are very fair, just like the text book work. He is very caring, understanding, and wants to see students do well. His office hours are helpful and he makes himself available for help, which I recommend getting. Great guy! You won't regret it.

Dr. Goltz is one of the kindest human beings I have ever come across. He genuinely cares about his students, not just as students, but as people. He knows his students' names and will take the time to get to know you. He knows how to keep your attention during lecture when things get boring, and calm you down when you feel stressed. He gets people.

Goltz is a wonderful prof! Super funny, and I loved his term tests. Even after having him as a prof last semester, I just asked him a question a few days ago and he gave me really good feedback!

He was always willing to help and make time for any student that needed it. However, he is SUPER disorganized and this effected his use of lecture time majorly.

Professor Goltz is truly awesome. The material can be hard, but I found his notes and examples really helpful, he's fair with his questions, very much like the practice questions in the textbook! His midterms can be hard, but he's helpful, makes class fun, he's fair and wants you to do well. Absolutely recommend him!!!

LOVE Goltz. hilarious guy, made lectures fun and quick. extremely clear lectures, could easily follow and make my own notes. exams are similar to the questions in class, but its not an easy A!! Super approachable. Wish he taught 1112!!! practice questions from notes, textbook and mastering chem.

Goltz is an excellent Chemistry professor. Not only was he extremely clear on the subject matter in his lectures, but he was also always there to answer questions whether it be through email, class or office hours. To pass, just make sure you understand the types of questions he does in class and do lots of practice with textbook questions.

Best prof to take chem with, however he can get busy sometimes and is hard to find if you need help, so go to the tutoring centre!!. Sometimes covers topics irrelevant to tests/exams, however there are never any surprises on them. Offers a lot of support and wants his students to succeed. If you're scared of chem, take it with him! He's great

You need a basic understanding of chemistry for this course. Goltz wants his students to do well. He will give extra credit on tests, help with labs, curves grades too. He makes chem make sense. DO TAKE this course with him, do the practice problems in the textbook and get to know him, he will pull strings for you and give youthe grade you deserve

Goltz is really kind, funny, and has a sarcastic kind of humour! I think deep down he's really intelligent too, just doesn't show it. I don't think I could've endured this course with any other prof. You really need to know your stuff though- memorizing how to do problems will only get you so far.

Although he is funny and entertaining, I feel as though he doesn't cover essential points nor does he prepare us very well for tests and assignments. The sample problems he gives us are very simple and only cover the basics which are never on assignments or tests. I have to pretty much tech the course to myself

Super nice guy, going to class is a must as he doesn't put notes online. He does lots of examples in class but they are very simple compared to what is on the tests, which have questions similar to textbook questions or straight out of the textbook

He came unprepared. "when you get into upper years the profs get better" are words he said all too much. He used power points right from the publisher and would not look at them before class, so he would be confused trying to figure out what a slide means. He is a funny personable man but doesn't seem to care about class and wastes your time

Comment:
Is an approachable, funny prof. However, not one of my favourites. He uses questions straight out of the textbooks and then what's on the exam is something that you've never seen before. You can tell he doesn't really care about 1111, i'm glad I can teach myself as attending his lectures are pointless because he teaches for about one third.
