I learned nothing from his boring talk and his explanation. You have to learn all by yourself. Practice with Eviews and read more materials on statistics would help you a lot.

Ended up teaching myself this course with the textbook that does not contain answers. His lectures were not useful and he did not accurately explain statistics concepts or used any examples. He is receptive to questions. Expect proof questions on exams and exact textbook version is necessary.

Nice guy but really really sucks at teaching. Incredibly boring and confusing. Definitely should have had a different prof teaching this class online as his methods do not work in this format. Basically had to teach everything to myself.

He is a nice guy and is willing to help, but he expects you to know a lot about statistics. Lectures are scattered and he will put up random equations on the board without a clear explanation of what it is. He takes questions from past assignments and midterms for midterm and final so, find someone who took the class. Recommend taking 304 first.

He is a very dedicated professor! Always available and encouraging questions in his lecture. Note that he is adamant on 2 things, no electronic devices in his class, and no washroom breaks allowed in test/exams.

Did not post notes so you had to go to class. Electronics (including computers) were banned in class. Explained things very quickly and were not the same type of things in the textbook questions. Roughly 70 of us started the class about 20 left by the end of the semester. Tests were very difficult and had a lot harder of questions than were in clas

Maybe 15% of the exam is actually taught during the lecture, everything else you're on your own to learn it from the textbook and the workbook (yes, they are 150$ each). We started out with 70 people in the class and after the 2nd midterm we are now about 25 in the class. Gives you an idea of how many people actually like his class...

He doesn't allow bathroom use during exams, bans phones/laptops during lectures, and doesn't post notes. You're expected to read the textbook before and after the class because he knows he doesn't do a good job of teaching. Finally, you need to buy a workbook and a textbook because apparently we will be making a lot of money when we graduate.

Doesn't post notes so you have to go to class. Lectures are good and he shows you what he is going to do at the start of each class, so they are well laid out. Quite a few questions on the tests are from the optional practice problems he gives you. So if you actually do them you can do well in the class. One of my favourite profs. Recommended.

He is a fair marker, his marks hard but fair. He relies heavily on the assumption that you have done the readings before class, if you haven't you will find it difficult to follow along as this is unlike any other Econ class at the UofS. I would take another class with him if I could.

Friendly, corny guy. Approachable, and good at teaching the basics, but some of the more complex topics his explanations will leave you scratching your head.

he is always in a good mood but can be a little corny at times but is very helpful. it is an econometric type of class so you will have to practice the formulas and practice eviews to understand the subject because a little mistake could cost you huge marks. so make sure you practice the formulas and eviews to get a good mark in the class.

By far one of the best or the best prof in the Econ department. He is a brilliant man and very approachable, cares alot about his job and makes class interesting even if the material isn't.He believes his job is to help u learn and not destroy lives on exams.ECON473 is no joke tho, really put the time to learn the material cuz this stuff aint easy.

OK. AND. THE. SO. take his class and find out what I mean. Aside from that he is a very smart man. the people who knock his 211/214 classes probably shouldn't continue in economics... that was nothing. believe me!
