It was a really difficult class for me. The material was simple, however, the way the class was put together made it difficult to understand the class material. For example, we would be stuck on play for weeks and the other ones for maybe a day. She asked me if I knew what muzzle was which was shocking because English is my first language.

The nicest and most helpful prof you can get at the U of R. She seriously goes out of her way to make sure every student looked after and has a clear understanding of the material.

Dr. Grande is a great prof. Her lectures are full of information and really provides a great insight into the world of Shakespeare studies. Technology is not her strong suit but she tries very hard to make her lectures more enjoyable. She gives great feedback on her assignments and if you ask for help she is highly likely to give it to you.

It's very clear she's passionate about what she teaches which made it an enjoyable class. She sometimes has the tendency to drift off topic, but not often and the content in class is mostly useful for the essays. Occasional pop quizzes (but super easy ones). If you're taking the Shakespeare course you DONT need the book listed at the store!

Troni is a great prof. she is very knowledgable about her subject area. She was always willing to meet with her students and help them through any comments and great feedback. I can safely say that my writing improved after following Troni's advice. She is often cheerful and happy to teach her class even when the class was early in the morning.

Troni is a really great, passionate prof. Her passion for Shakespeare is evident in her class. You do not need to go to every class, but she has about 2 quizzes every month worth only 5%. She marks fairly easy if you put in the work. You do not need the text, just look up the Shakespeare poems online.

She is helpful and available to give extra help outside of class. Very knowledgable and passionate. Lectures could be hard to follow, with minimal prepared notes/slides but she does her best to guide the conversation. Lots of good feedback given on essays.

She is like a grandma that became a teacher. Super sweet. She knows her stuff. I had her for the WGST 367 and she was ok. Sometimes it felt like we were teaching her. Overall I love her as a person and like her as a teacher. She makes class easy to do well as long as you pay attention and put the work in!

A total sweetheart. Some say she marks hard, but for a Uni-level English class I'd say she is pretty fair. She is very knowledgeable but I'll admit the classes can get boring, participation is only 10% so you can get away with skipping occasionally. Get her or a TA to go over your essays, as it's super beneficial. She's super kind, I loved her

Troni is one of the best profs I've ever had. She truly cares about her students and wants everyone to do well. If you are struggling, ask her for help. She will go out of her way to make sure you pass. This class definitely uses the textbooks and you will have to read a lot. She does pick things that are interesting to read though.

Lectures jumped all over the place but you could easily tell Troni knew her stuff and was passionate. She was always understanding about extensions and pretty chill with due dates (other than with the term paper). Really knowledgeable but couldn't always convey that knowledge clearly in her lectures.

She wants you to do well. She is so nice and helpful. I would for sure recommend her to someone else. She gives extra assignments to boost your grade.

A brilliant, sweet woman who genuinely cares for her students, though she can go off on tangents during her lectures. As the department head, she can take a while to get back to you, but is always accessible and incredibly helpful if you need assistance. She can be a tough marker and attendance is necessary to do well.

Lovely woman-- goes above and beyond to help students, which I think counts for more than the fact that her lectures tend to wander. Marks hard but improves your writing skills! She's lots of fun in class, and even more if you participate and speak up, even to ask questions.

Troni is a very nice woman. She is willing to help outside of class, however she was always almost a week late in getting back to me. Her lectures are almost impossible to follow and take notes on. She marks EXTREMELY hard. My grades in her class were 10% lower than other English classes I have taken at the U of R. Do not recommend.

Troni is easily the best professor I have ever had. She marks very fairly and it is clear she wants to see her students do well. She has a big heart and knows her material very thoroughly. Participation in her class is not mandatory though I would recommend it to stay engaged and improve your mark. Take any of her classes, she is amazing!

Troni is such a sweet lady! Her class notes were a little scattered, yes. If you throw out an idea in her class, she somehow weaves it into an answer for the question she asked. Very skilled in analyzing short stories, and knows her stuff when it comes to grammar. Revise your essays a lot, and you'll do well!
