Dr. Marshall is a caring teacher who goes out of her way to make her classes engaging. I learned a great deal taking this class and found her interesting and funny. She is also very understanding and is willing to give extensions if needed. Very caring and approachable in and outside of class.

I had absolutely no background in bio but I did well within the class. 4 tests and a book review. It is doable but I would not recommend taking it with a heavy course load. She makes you really work for it.

She's one of my all-time favourite profs! Her lectures are very engaging and her tests and paper are super fair. The material can be difficult but she's great at explaining it. I had a lot of fun in her classes and highly recommend her to any psych students :)

She is easily irritated during class and seemed to be overwork. She spent most of the class time ranting about covid and barely taught the actual lesson. Her tests are pretty straight forward. Her use of blackboard seemed unorganized. Honestly, she seemed passionate and caring when she actually taught the lesson.

In the grand scheme of things Wilma is a really caring professor. If she is the worst you've had, you're really lucky. Your grade is based on multiple choice exams with simple long answer "essay" questions, as well as one paper, where she holds your hand throughout the entire process. Pretty easy, straight-forward course.

Fair course load and Wilma is a good prof but I think the transition to online has been difficult for her. Lots of questions and miscommunication. It can be very frustrating at times. She does make some negative comments and doesnt take constructive criticism or input well but I believe she has good intentions. It will just take time to adjust.

Gave us 20 min to do 5 mc questions and an essay and got upset when people weren't happy with her for not telling us we only had 20 min. Didn't even explain how to do the essay until the next class after our grades had already been posted. I've never had such an unprofessional prof in my life. She's very very rude to students with concerns as well.

Shes just honestly so bad, she makes absolute no sense at all you cant record her lectures and she doesnt do it either so if you dont understand something good luck. She refers everything back to the psyc lab so if you have any questions she tells you to go there and if it is something she can help with shell give you the bare minimum

Wilma is a very intimidating prof. She doesn't offer office hours and rarely replied to emails. Her schedule, syllabus and lectures were very unorganized. She would often start and end lectures late. If you're shy/have anxiety this is not the prof for you. Tests were unnecessarily long and had repetitive Q's. Had to teach myself once covid hit...

To do well, the best advice I can give you is to read the textbook! Everything that is on the tests is taken directly from the textbook. So Read and Re-read the chapters multiple times to memorize everything in there and you will succeed in her class. She said in class that she creates a question on the test based on each page in the chapter.

Really enjoyed her class. Wilma is witty and funny- I normally cant focus in evening classes but she made it enjoyable and interesting. She really knows her stuff from experience in the field. makes everything realistically applicable in the real world and understandable. Bit of a tough grader but is easy to reach and ask questions.

I always looked forward to her lectures. She used funny metaphors to help us learn difficult concepts. It was great that she put effort into making the dry textbook easier to understand. Her exams are long MCQ, and some have a written component. The textbook is long but it is necessary to read to do well on the exams. Overall, a great professor!

I loved her as a professor. She can forget things, but as long as you keep up with your work you'll do well. Her tests aren't too difficult, and there's 4 of them with about 100 multiple choice questions each. Really enthusiastic, and her lectures taught me a lot. Buy the ebook of the text if you can, she does require launchpad.

Her lectures and powerpoints are all over the place, and the connections she tries to make are very confusing. It seems like she is more concerned with being interesting and funny than teaching the material. I attended 1 lecture the second half of the semester and got an A+ from teaching myself through the text. Makes concepts harder than need be.

she likes to pick on her students. I guess some people like her, but personally I found her extremely rude and harsh. It was the worst psyc class I've ever taken. I got anxiety just to show up to class, which shouldn't be the case! I prefer to be taught by people I respect, she was just super awful ):

Amazing professor and amazing content, she genuinely cares about her students and if you email her or go to her office hours she'll invest a lot of time and energy into helping you. The book report is huge but she's a fair marker

Wilma is amazing. She really does care about her students and wants them to do well, and she's hilarious. Paper was a Book Review, that I was nervous about because I had never written one before, but she's gives lots of criteria and student examples to help. Tests are pretty straightforward but long. You really do have to study though. Great prof!

I'm so glad I ignored these reviews and listened to a friend because Dr. Marshall is amazing. Her teaching method is efficient as she makes the material easier to understand while providing excellent examples/analogies. Her exams are long but very easy to do well on. Attending lecture really helps + READING THE BOOK! Also, great sense of humour!

well caring prof. Made the harder material easier to understand. Approachable, cares for her students, if behind on a paper, she will help you. She is funny when she says her stories to make a point with the material on the slides. I only wish she would have a practice exam sheets on Blackboard. Would not recommend in skipping her class lectures.

Wilma is a pretty awesome professor. Yes, she gets sidetracked sometimes and yes, she is constantly late to class, but her way of explaining is very unique and helpful. She's very easy to talk to and to ask questions to, and is always very willing to listen. Send her your projects a couple weeks before they're do and she's happy to look at at them.
