Really cares about his students, and wants them to engage in every way possible. He applied the language to everyday situations, and taught us about Germany and the countries surrounding it. Bits and pieces of history anyways. Overall, really inspirational, and would recommend to any student wanting to take German from the University of Regina.

Michael was not a very respectful man and was often rude to his students. As a first year german class he was not very accommodating and expected everyone to be able to speak the language perfectly on the first try. He never explained how to do the assignments and just expected us to know what we were doing. Definitely suggest a different prof.

Michael was a great German prof he knows so much of the language and culture that it really helps you to understand better. He is always open to helping students and is patient with you. He gets grades back fast and efficiently. sometimes he does take a while to reply to emails though, so it is best to talk to him before or after classes.

Dr. Zimmermann has the patience of a saint. Genuinely attempts to connect with students personally; wants you to learn German well and garnishes lectures with a great deal of culture. SUPER lenient on mistakes in your verbal German - what matters is trying. Lowkey sly. Einer der nettesten Lehrer, dass ich je getroffen habe.

Michael makes learning German easy and fun. He provides clear examples and helps make sense of the textbook. He is funny, respectable and an overall wonderful Prof. I needed to fill a language requirement and didn't speak a word of German going in, but with Michael as a Prof learning was incredibly easy and fun, it soon became my favourite class!

Best professor I have had so far. He has very good techniques for teaching, and anybody taking this class should understand that learning a new language is not easy, regardless of who is teaching. listen during lectures and do all of your lab homework.

The man has a great deal of integrity and is willing to go the extra mile. I told him about the "always wears socks and sandals" post further down and he had a good laugh about it. Apperently, birkenstocks and socks are extremely comfortable and from some of the other stories he was telling me he may have been doing since he was in university.

Honestly I took German for kicks and giggles and because I needed a language and I am so glad that I did. Michael was such a fun prof. Classes were funny, he was extremely helpful, and the class itself wasn't super difficult. There were a few quizzes but never without ample warning and his tests weren't super hard. 10/10 would take again.

I enjoyed the class. He was passionate about what he taught and engaged the students. He wears socks and sandals, even in winter- not sure why. I really enjoyed him as a teacher and am going to go on and take the higher level German courses because of him. Wish he was teaching 112. The only complaint is the online software which you have to buy.

Amazing class and amazing instructor! He's very passionate about the subject, right down to the grammar portion of it. I'd recommend him as a prof to anyone who is looking for a good prof for introductory German. He's easy to approach and very friendly when talking to his students.

Zimmermann is incredibly kind and helpful. He goes out of his way to ensure his students understand the material, and never belittles. He knows what he teaches back-to-front and is always willing to apply more of his knowledge to class material. My only complaint was the quality of the online assignments, which is not his fault; it's the books'.

Zimmerman is an awesome prof! He is extremely open and willing to help if you are unsure about anything. He also has many funny stories that relate to the class and that help you to understand German culture as well. His quizes are also extremely easy when he is in a good mood (groB...it's not a very BIG word).

Amazing! If he spoke German, it was using vocab we knew and could easily follow (he'd usually say the English right after anyway). His tests were challenging (perhaps hard for people who just want to fill their language req). Great if you're serious about German, and want an approachable, nice, and funny prof.

I wish he would talk more in English and less in German. I know that it's important for us to hear it but the class wasn't anywhere near fluent yet. Otherwise he's a good prof. He's very helpful and a nice guy.
