He was a great prof. A tad too proud of himself, he shows these videos from when he worked for CBC and he was in all of them. He is a tough but fair grader. You have to be really willing to work and liking history will help.

If you ever have a chance to take a class from Bill Waiser, do it! He is THE best prof I ever had during my university career. He makes Canadian history super interesting and fun to learn. I learned so many things about Canadian soldiers and the First World War experience! Absolutely Fanastic! Also my class was small so we had snack every class :)

amazing history professor. i hated missing his class just because his lectures were so interesting. obviously a brilliant man and knows a ton about canadian history. the class only really looked at saskatchewan which was a little disappointing, and i thought it was weird he used his own book, but in the end, it was an amazing class

Very knowledgeable prof, interesting class, never boring. As long as you show up to class and take good notes, you will do just fine. You can't really get by on the textbook, you miss a lot when you miss a class.

By far the best prof of my history degree. Makes the information interesting, fair marker and truly cares about his students. Attend the class (hardly need a text book if you do) and you'll have no problems on the exams.

Very good prof. If you don't go to class you will probably struggle somewhat in his exams; the way it should be! He knows Canadian history like the back of his hand! Very smart and helpful. I would recomend him to anyone. Best prof I have ever had.

I felt his instructions were completely unclear and the tutorial assignments were irrelevant. I did learn a lot of information but the marking system he used was completely unreasonable.

He was a pretty good prof! The class was somewhat interesting but if it ever got dull, he would make jokes. Didn't really like my tutorial leader, but overall the class was good!

I dare you to google him. He lectures and presents all over the world: in three months, he lectured in Tokyo, Calgary, and Toronto (that I know of). He has also written like ten books about Canadian stuff - AND he had his own little TV show called "Looking Back." Regarding his lectures: they are second to none.

He is the best prof I've had. He made the content very interesting and was a great resource outside of class. Ask for help on essays as he is very willing to help. He marks hard but fair. I did well in his class and learnt so much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I learned a ton in his class. His tests were not all that hard, but I got a much lower than I'm used to mark on my essay and he said the marking had been too easy. But I'd love to take another class from him. Great prof.
