condescending. had to pay $20 to do an assignment worth almost half the final grade and was marked by other university students in america. he worded questions on tests in a way to try and confuse. had to do a huge kinship diagram on the final which took forever and was so confusing (although he said his 5yr old nephew can do it easily).

I genuinely believe Carlos is one of the best professors at the University. He is kind, gives great lectures, and is passionate about what he teaches. I took ANTH100 with him in my last semester of Uni and honestly it was quite a bit of work, but the material was so interesting. Take one of his classes!

Professor Carlos gives entertaining lectures that really make his subject matter more engaging and interesting. His assignments and tests are pretty easy to follow as long as you do the required reading and take decent notes in class. Very funny, highly recommended.

Very passionate with his lectures. As long as you do the readings for the class, you should be good. If you have any questions, he explains everything in great detail for everyone to understand.

Carlos is an amazing professor, he makes the class very interesting even if the content is not. This was the only class that i did not fall asleep in. Learned more in this class than any other class. Attendance is necessary, but if you miss a class he is available in his office and helps to the best of his ability.

I have mixed feelings about Carlos. He's funny and gives great lectures, but his exams are ridiculous. He explains the concepts well during lectures, but on the exams he uses such academic language that you don't know what he's asking, and his questions seem to come out of nowhere. If you don't want to slave for a good mark, don't choose Carlos.

I love Carlos! He is a fair but tough marker and is always available to talk or explain things out of class. The readings can be difficult to get through but always do them, they help so much. I strongly suggest taking a class from Carlos, especially Anth of Language. I learn a new thing everyday with Carlos.

Carlos is a very good teacher and also a very nice person if you get to know him. His lectures can be tough but if you ever need help he will always talk out of class. His main key on essays is that you show understanding of the material and that you make it easily readable and accessible. Nice guy.

He makes the content understandable except I don't understand the assigned readings until after he's explained them in class so I suggest waiting until after class to read them. Fair marker. Willing to make time to help you but very busy, I think he's the head of the department now. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject.

I think his grading techniques are a little unfair. He marks all papers as if you are turning in a thesis paper. Isn't very helpful. If you want a good mark, suck up to him. A little arrogant, scholarly, but very interesting in lectures. Readings are dense, didn't learn too much, unfortunately. Wouldn't recommend taking his class. Sorry Carlos.

Yes, this prof is a tough marker. He doesn't hand out good grades, but makes u work for them. They certainly are achievable. The course readings were dense, but with the explanations in his lectures I understood them much better. AWESOME LECTURER, very fluent and has a good sense of humour. Also, he is willing to talk after class, very helpful!

The material is interesting but the prof is a little arrogant especially about his field. Often there was more rhetoric than substance to his lectures. But I did improve my writing thanks to his comments. I just didn't like his style.

This man will challenge you. He's a hard marker, and even if you earn a high grade he'll still mark your paper up with questions that prompt you to think. He makes language interesting and is very clear. Although I sometimes felt he repeated the same point too much, some of the class appreciated the repetition and emphasis.

Amazinf prof! He knows his stuff quite well. This is one of the few profs that can manage to get almost all the students attention and make the class entertaining, despite the large amount of stuents. (and on top of it all he's really hot)
