He grades on purely ONLY Exams and homework. Each and every homework assignment is HEAVILY graded. Every little mistake results in less and less points. On day one, create a group and do the homework as a group. Otherwise, your toast. At times, he would assign homework due next class period without showing how to complete a common problem on the HW

Only take this class with him if you are a pure math major. As a person I like him but his teaching style can be hard and the exams make up your entire grade. Get a tutor for this class in the first week- you will need it.

He grades hard and only one problem out of 3 or 4 questions. So that being said, if you mess up on the problem he is grading, then you are screwed over and have a terrible grade. He also grades hard on his test and expects a lot from you throughout the course. He doesn't teach the material very well nor is available that often. Not even recommend.

Prof. Sipka is an absolutely amazing professor, for math majors and non-majors alike. His jokes can be corny but you can't help but laugh at some of them. Overall, he's a great guy who loves what he does (and he's good at it!); it doesn't get much better than that.

Initially, I wasn't crazy about his teaching. The longer I had him, the more I warmed up to him. Maybe because I'm a math major. He tells jokes often and you can't help but smile at some of them. He is pretty helpful and clear most of the time. Overall a very good professor.

Sipka is a great teacher. Requires a lot of work, but which math class doesn't? He LOVES to crack jokes to try to keep everyone awake. It truly helps :) Good man. And if you ever need help he's more than willing to give a hand.

Sipka is the best guy you'll ever meet. He is very thorough in his explanations, not to mention how funny he is. He also enjoys recieving phone calls at home since no one ever calls him. So if you have a math question, feel free to call.
