Comment:
Professor Puk was a frustrating professor to take an online class with. I went all semester without seeing a single grade and when I asked him for my marks he said that I couldn't see them until the class is over. His discussion posts say that you have to answer one or more questions but if you only answer 1-3 he will give you a failing mark

Seems like he would be a great prof in person, but his online classes are below average. The syllabus is confusing and not very clear. Course consisted of 13 module discussions and a term paper, which was nice, but he doesn't give you your grades until the end of term. He also does not give discussion feedback, which is annoying.

Could be a good professor, but often gives you little to no explanation about assignments but still expects it to be done to his liking. Gives you options as to how many module questions you would like to answer and does not require you to comment on others posts, but also says you will not get full marks if you do not answer all of them and reply.

Bryan Puk is by far the most chill prof I've come across. He focuses on discussions rather than giving you the info. notes are minimal and exams are fair. i would 100% recommend this prof if youre looking for a class to enjoy going to.

It was an awesome class and he was an awesome prof. I love how he writes his notes on the board and not through a powerpoint! So much better and easy to follow. Participate lots as he give you lots of chances to speak so do it. Pretty much my best summer class.

Horrible professor who doesn't know anything about the subject matter at hand. Spent two classes talking about prison lingo from the 60s. 90 questions for 100% of your grade. Easiest class you'll ever take, but you will learn absolutely nothing.

Nice guy but painfully slow giving lectures and half of the notes he gives make zero sense. Midterms were super easy but the essay component of the course was brutally marked and no feedback was provided.

Readings were unbelievably dated, many of them 20 years old, even the module on technology. No current issues, no current material. Exam questions were from the self-study notes and if you've taken SOC111/112 they're the same questions. Easy marks but you won't learn much.

Don't bother with the text, he'll take exam questions from the notes only, and if you've taken another class with him they'll be the same questions. Lots of videos, some interesting but nothing is connected to the course content. Same with class "discussions". Easy exam marks but you won't learn anything in this class.

AMAZING PROF!!! If you get the chance to have this prof take it! The most inspirational man I have met and seems to care about how his students do! He knows what he is talking about and usually dumbs it down for the class so it is very easy to understand!

Class material was boring enough without being forced to listen to his boring lectures. Just the whole class was not for me. Managed to force myself through it for the pass, but will never seek a class with him again. Way to unprofessional of a prof for what I enjoy at the university level. Be prepared for his incredible lack of charisma. Blah
