Duke is a great professor and really cares about the subject material. The exams are also curved like crazy (even the final). It's too bad he's leaving next semester

Professor Duke is the best professor I have had so far. He genuinely does care about his students, but it is a huge lecture typically, so use his office hours and he will really help you out. Tests are the exact problem sets (conceptually) so if you do them youll be fine (also a HUGE curve). Attendance isnt mandatory but definitely helps.

Professor Duke is extremely passionate about the subject, which helped make his lectures interesting. His exams are tough but he curves them. He also drops your lowest problem set, which can help your grade a lot. He makes you think about the environment and applies economic concepts in a new perspective. Definitely would recommend!

It's a pretty interesting class. People like it because of the grading policy. Don't be discouraged on exam grades. Our exams tended to range from 5%-103% so pretty large distributions. The curve saves a lot of people.

If you try you can easily get an A in this class. Class isn't mandatory but if you go you learn a lot and can easily do the problem sets and do well on the exams. Professor is easy to listen to and if you have even a little background in econ its super easy.

Tests are hard. Classwork is hard. Everything is difficult. I can't even suggest anything to make the exams easier. If you get it, you're good. If you don't, you never will, at least not in time for an exam or problem set. Book is useless. But Duke is a great professor. Material just sucks.

Curves every single test and assignment so the average is an 85. I have never met a teacher with more passion than him, he clearly loves what he does. The environment is his life and he will consistently make some of the driest but funniest jokes about the media, politics, and "environmental terrorists". I ended up with above a 100 take his class

Duke is a great professor, had him for environmental economics too. This class was a little tough as sometimes the material can be a little tricky to work with. Overall, pretty interesting class. Duke is helpful so if you screw up he'll help you out.

This is by no means an easy class, but I want to do all the work. Duke is a hard-ass, but he really wants everyone to truly learn and become a better student. He's truly one of the best professors I've ever had, and I have such respect for him. It's a lot of work (a lot) but it's all essential to the class and so rewarding to complete it.

Don't get the book. Go to class so you don't miss pop quizzes-but not mandatory. Go to TA review sessions. Material seems hard at first, but you'll eventually realize that it's easier than it appears. Large curves on exams gave me at least 100%; mostly problem set questions. Problem set reviews set you up for an A. I hate econ and received an A.

Extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Material is difficult but if you go to his office hours, it is guaranteed that he will help you. He references the book, but you can get by without it. Knows his stuff and genuinely cares about your education.

easily one of the best professors I have had at UD take him!! do well on the problem sets and itll save you. go to office hours and he'll give you most of the answers. The tests are basically based off the problem sets so if you memorize those you'll do well.

basic macro econ, combined w/ environmental info. theres helpful review session before every hw and exams. He curves generously. definitely reasonable to expect an A!

Go to every class, and pray you have a good TA that does lots of review sessions. If you do well on the HW, you'll probably at least get a C. Class is by no means easy and Duke doesn't do anything. He is kind of dorky, monotone, and thinks everyone loves the environment. Easy 300 lvl Econ if you put the work in. Don't expect an A!

interesting materials but gets complicated. textbook not useful at all. study assignments. TA office hour very helpful. assignments take time to finish...For exams you have to know the concepts clearly if you get confused, ask TA otherwise you will probably get C or below. not an easy class but possible A if you understand econ well.

Not a blow off class. If you miss class you will miss alot. This should have a low level law class to be required because thats mostly what this is about...law theory not much in the environmental aspect until the very end. Yes he is very knowledgeable but also intimidating! Proceed with caution!
