Comment:
The heavy workload was helpful in terms of really learning the exercises. However, he didn't clarify his expectations during exams, so errors occurred quite often because he didn't accept certain answers. His lectures are fairly okay, but exams were hard and not enough time to complete them.

Really good teacher, and always asks if there are questions after teaching a concept. Course load is fair but not easy. Provides examples that help with solving more complex problems. Tests are also fair and given with enough time. Would take a course with this prof again, really easy to talk to

I think Wesley was awesome in how he conveyed the information to the class and he is approachable for questions. The course itself is not exactly a cakewalk so be expected to put some work in. In the end, I definitely learnt alot so I highly recommend this prof to anyone who wants to take discrete math 1.

Wesley is a great calculus prof as long as you put in the effort. There are no quizzes or assignments, just two term tests, a tutorial and the final so you need to make sure you know your stuff. He is hilarious and respected. His tests are not easy but he will do his best to give you marks for the work you do wherever possible. Best of luck!

Great & hilarious guy. Explains things well & breaks everything down into steps just to make you REALLY understand. Explains the relevance of the material & gives you fun group activities to exercise it. Tough grader (show your units!) but for good reason. Doesn't check HW (but do it!), gives formulae on tests. No pop quizzes or random HW checks.

I really enjoyed taking Discrete Math 1 with Wesley. He is able to articulate the course material in a very simple and concise manner instead of over complicating things. I had three term midterms this semester worth 20% each. and they certainly weren't easy either. However, attending all lectures and doing the homework will set you up for success!

Explains topics clearly and gives detailed explanations and strategies to tackle any problem. Consistently gives hints on specific questions that will be on the exam, while also cracking jokes during his lectures. I will definitely be taking another class with him again.

Wesley is the best math instructor I've ever had. He explains concepts very clearly with appropriate speed. Lectures are easy to understand, also very organized as well. For grading, I don't know why people say he's tough marker. In my experience, if you make mistakes on your answer or solving process, he will only take 0.5 or 1 mark off

Wesley is a REALLY great math professor! Obviously, the subject is pretty difficult and you have to keep up with your homework, but I found his lectures moderately easy to keep up with (without reading ahead). He is super eager to help and answer questions, although the course is pretty jam-packed with material. Overall, I'd chose him again!

To be honest, out of all the instructors Ive had in math at Douglas, I have received the most part marks from Wesley, so Im not sure why people say hes a hard marker. In math you obviously cant get a free ride by doing nothing. If you consistently do your homework, review class examples, you will be fine.

Wesley is a great instructor. He isn't the type to rush through as many examples as he can in class, but he goes through class at a very reasonable pace and goes through main concepts in the course very clearly. Examples shown in class are VERY representative of what is on midterms/final. He is patient, articulate, and personable.

Teaches well but extremely hard marker. I remember the fist day he said "try to answer the qs clearly and correctly otherwise if I see some mistake I cross off the whole answer and won't read all" and he did exactly what he said;by very small and minor mistake he crossed off the whole ansewr. Don't take his class if you care about your GPA.

Explains concepts well and is very clear. He is also very friendly and approachable and encourages his students to come to his office hours if they need help. However, he is a hard marker. Midterms and final were tough but fair. Doing the homework questions helps a lot.

Wesley expects you to know your stuff and know it well. He always encourages you to visit him for extra help. But when it comes to tests you better know what your doing plus a little extra. He can make things a little more complicated then they need to be. I would only recommend his class if a your a strong student or not shy about asking for help.

I highly recommend Wes for any math course at douglas. He's always willing to help, and always asks if the material is making sense. His tests are similar to his notes, but more so he focuses on whether you understand the material, not just memorizing his notes. He's an awesome teacher!
