I liked this guy, but this was NOT easy, on purpose. Quite frankly I think the man had to use a crowbar to get some of these students to think outside the box. I really don't think he meant it, just trying to open some minds see things from another viewpoint. Seemed to like/enjoy the students. He wanted to challenge them and some didn't want that.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY! I am an aspiring law student myself, have a near 4.0 GPA, and consider him the worst professor at UNCC. His tests are open book, but he grades extremely biased and extremely hard. Unless you give his opinion, you are wrong!(even if the book says another thing) He will criticize you relentlessly. You will regret taking him

All the tests are open book. When he tells you to buy a law dictionary, do it. You will need it for the tests. 90% percent of the answers to his tests are in the footnotes of the book you are required to buy. You will get an A if you know this. And if he calls you an idiot, you are.

Speaking as a 2L at a top 100 law school I am very privileged to have taken Professor Brenner as an undergrad. His socratic method is the same as in law school so it prepared me beyond belief. I am very fond of him as a Professor! Do the reading and learn the court's reasoning/his reasoning and you will do great!

This man is an excellent teacher, he knows what he is talking about. He is opinionated, but give me a poli sci professor that isn't. He loves teaching and that is why he is still doing it at the age of 78. Probably the most under-estimated professor in the department. Know his opinion and read the book!

Do not take this professor! You can quote the book and he will still say you are wrong, unless you give his opinion word by word. Dont bother to answer questions in class either b/c once again he will only tell you how wrong u r.

As a first year law student, nothing prepared me more for law school than Brenner's classes. Although they are pretty difficult, they are worth the experience. Law school professors use the Socratic method just as Brenner and you will often read cases in the book that are wrong. It is a different way of learning and his class helps the transition.

This man loves speaking about how UNCC doesn't give a good education, yet he teaches here. He has total disrespect for God and country, relying on his biased views about the court system. He rambles half of the class time about what a name means and how he went to Columbia, how Judge Cardozo is a God, and how his family is all Ivy League. Avoid!!!!

IF YOURE THINKING ABOUT GOING TO LAW SCHOOL, TAKE BRENNERS CLASS. If you don't like the way he teaches then law school probably isnt for you. His lecture style is what you get your 1st year courses. He likes to hear himself talk but hes ivy league & knows what hes talking about. Nothing could have prepared me better for law school than his classes

Brenner is one of the most interesting professors in the POLS department. He knows his stuff so it doesn't work to BS in the class, simply do your readings and listen to what he says and you will make in A. If you have any aspirations to go to Law School he is the professor to take!

STAY AWAY!! He is rude, talks about everything that doesn't pertain to class, brags about how much money he has, and insults everyone. Tests are open book, open notes, yet says that something you quote out of the book is "not true." Save your time and your sanity by skipping anything this guy teaches.

What can I say? He's strange, rude, and always right. But he also gives open book/note exams that you should at least get a B on. Hard to get an A, but he also won't give you a D or F. If you can overlook his personality, it's not too difficult a course. Only three exams, no papers or assignments.

Dr. Brenner is a good teacher who really knows his stuff. GO TO CLASS and PARTICIPATE. I learned more from talking in class and letting him tell me that I was wrong when I was wrong and right the few times that I was right than by just taking notes(which you MUST take). I have made an A in both classes and learned soooo much. Have an open mind.

I took his class a few years ago and just had to rate him. My advice to other women: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! He is a male shovenis pig. He says at the begining of the class that "if you make a C or lower in this class do NOT plan on going to law school" and then procceds to grade you accurately all year until the final and then screws you.
