This man loves rocks, to the point that it's kind of funny. Other than that, didn't have the best experience; the difficulty of the class made me hate coming, and you definitely need to study hard for every test. He is not the best at communicating. If you're a non science major and take him, be ready to work.

He is very passionate about rocks. He takes a while to warm up to the class. He uses good examples but there is so much he expects you to know, espec. for not being a science major. His tests have a lot on them so study a lot! I had to worry/study a lot for his class.

I had to take this class for an honors science credit, and it was the worst thing I could have done. As much as Prof Wilson is a very nice man, and very passionate about his field, I didn't enjoy him as a prof. He doesn't explain the content or his expectations very well. He's also very unorganized and takes forever to explain anything.

He's a really nice guy and definitely knows his stuff, but the way he explains things can be confusing. That being said, he is super willing to help. There is a LOT of material in his class and the exams are stressful. Just make you go to class and STUDY. Make sure that when you're studying you're memorizing HIS words. He's a VERY picky grader.

Professor Wilson is a great man. He is always willing to help you outside of class on any material you are struggling with. He also really appreciates it if you talk to him after you get a test back, especially if you didn't do so well.

Professor Wilson is the kind of professor that makes me glad I came to Grand Valley. You can tell he cares about his students, and goes the extra step to make the class interesting and help them learn. He's a pretty tough grader, and you have to study in order to do well on the exams. But I'm glad I took his class.

Like a intro geology. Wilson is very helpful and SUPER nice, and pretty funny. He's a fantastic guy. Course is tough, there's a lot to learn and exams were pretty hard. I took it credit/no credit. Lots of field trips/hands on stuff. Great class, great guy, just a little tough. You have to go to class or you'll miss tons, but no attendance taken.

He's a good professor and knows his stuff. He's also kind of funny, in an awkward type of way. Plus he trips over things occasionally. I don't know why that's important, but it was funny. THE EXAMS ARE SUPER HARD. He grades so specifically, and I studied really hard and still only ended up with a C. He's cool though, really nerdy about geology.

Greg was pretty cool/helpful! He does review sessions before each exam, and is pretty fair in what he expects you to know. At the same time, you will need to study a lot to get an A in this class if you aren't a science person. Also, try to break down barriers soon...his subtle sense of humor is great once he gets comfortable with your clas!

Subdued and straightforward, but smart and very helpful. Dedicated to the students and extremely willing to help. His quiet nerdiness is endearing,he brings in desserts to demonstrate scientific concepts and he caters to student needs. Understands we are not geology majors and still tries to make things interesting. Great prof.

Greg's a great guy. I'll admit, some of his class periods were painfully boring, but at the same time, I think he's awesome. Pretty normal for a geology prof, too.

Dedicated teacher, always willing to take time out to meet with students/run study groups. Teaching style is a bit dull...hard to care if you aren't interested. Quiet voice. Overall I was satisfied though! He knows his stuff. Can get an easy A if you just pay attention and go to study sessions. *

Definately one of my favorite profs., and my favorite class I've taken, especially in the honors college. Tests can be tough but if you study and go to the study sessions you'll be fine. Extremely helpful and really wants you to learn and have a good time. Most fun I've had in a class in years!

Very helpful, but the class is really boring for non-science majors... I took it credit/no credit and think I enjoyed it more because I wasn't freaking out about grades. Go to study sessions, go to class, ask questions, and you'll do fine

What an amazing prof! I didnt like him at first because he is a little on the boring side. but he really wanted us to do well, and went out of his way to help. He provides very clear review guides and has extra study sessions before exams. He also brought in cookies and ice cream occasionally. I loved him! Take him if you can!!!

Very, very good professor, and a nice guy, too. The course is tougher than I imagined it would be, but he sets you up for success so long as you make an effort. Study sessions before every exam were extremely helpful, so take advantage of 'em. Pretty hard class for me, but others seemed to breeze through it. Highly recommended prof, for sure.

Very enthusiastic prof and very helpful. He really wants his students to succeed. A lot more lecture than lab though, so it gets boring. And the fieldtrips are fun but a huge pain. He expects his class and the field trips to take presidence over your other classes. Other than that, awesome. Go to pre-test study sessions!
