she is super sweet. she really cares about her students and has no problem answering any questions. she is big on proper pronunciation but its not a big deal. all the in class activities are on nhl, and the tests are fairly easy. she likes volunteers but will still call on random students

Lots of homework but it's assigned over two weeks so enough time to get it done. She's ridiculously strict about class participation & behavior over Zoom. Camera must be on at all times, no eating, be dressed properly etc. Tests are pretty easy as are the written assignments. Class is just going over a few exercises in the book. Overall an easy A.

I was only in her class for a few days before I dropped the course. She was very rude to the whole class. Anytime I would ask a question, she seemed to enjoy making me feel stupid. This class did not have a work environment that I felt comfortable in.

Every single class is exactly the same, and she puts zero effort into anything. This class might as well be an independent study because she does not teach. And don't even try and argue with her, she does not take anyone else's opinions kindly. She can be very dismissive and rude. I took the class because I had to, I would not recommend.

I loved her Spanish class! We would do practice from the textbook in class, and most of it was grammar review and not too bad. I would totally recommend.

Carmen has a sweet personality, and she was enjoyable to be around in class. I did find though, that there was an extremely large amount of online homework, sometimes over 60 activities in two weeks. All that's done in class are textbook activities that barely help for the test, and nothing is taught, so the tests become harder than they should be.

Literally ignore any negative comments about her because those people are just lazy. If you don't show up and don't pay attention she won't like you, but she cares about all of her students regardless. My spanish improved SO MUCH in her class and I really feel like I learned something. Lots of homework but for good reason. Very funny as well.

Took her spring semester of last year. The class is supposed to be beginner level but she expects her students to be unrealistically good at pronunciation and grammar. The grading is extremely subjective and harsh and the only reason I received a B was because the TA graded some assignments. Definitely avoid her if you can.

if you're a native speaker, take this class. If not, good luck. She loves humiliating students for their mispronunciation. All she does is project the textbook pages on the white board and tell us to do the activities. By far the worst instructor I have ever had at UD. Every day I prayed either her or me would be hit by a car on the way to class

She's so funny and really easy to get off topic. Homework is easy and there isn't that much. Exams are really straightforward and come exactly from the homework questions and vocab lists. There are a few short presentations but she grades those pretty easily. I wish she taught upper level classes!

Online HW was by far the worst part of the course. Long and only a few chances usually. Tests are a lot of what is done in class, so definitely pay attention and participate. She usually picks vocab words for tests that are clearly more difficult- false cognates, etc. A lot of people don't like her but if you're respectful she'll like you.

TAKE HER. Literally such an amazing class. I learned so much, my Spanish got so much better, and she is a great professor. There is homework every day but it takes like 5 minutes and is super easy to do.

Really easy conversation course but you won't become fluent after taking this class. There are a lot of small presentations and nightly homework. Really nice and approachable teacher. No final exam, just a fun 10 minute skit. I would take this class again. Easy A if you show up. Exams are cake.

She is a good teacher. If you took four years of Spanish in high school, then this course is mostly review. If you try really hard, you could definitely get a good grade. The textbook is used in class and for homework. Be sure to participate a lot.

Participation is a huge part in grading. There are always in class exercises from the textbook so if you have any questions about the chapter, she will cover it in class. You can tell she's passionate about the subject and she gets excited about the material. She is the right amount of tough and she gives great feedback. She's always happy to help.

She's really not a bad professor. She follows the syllabus and has clear expectations of what she wants from her students. However, this was a conversation class. We did not converse. We went over homework, memorized speeches, and did exercises with a partner. For a 200 class it would be great, but I wanted my speaking abilities to improve.

Profesor Finnicum's class was very enjoyable. Although she does not stray away from the textbook I found it to be very interesting. The class is pretty easy and you can have four unexcused absenses but if you don't get excused after that it will affect your grade. If you don't understand spanish she will help you and she is a pretty easy grader.

Literally avoid her like the plague. Does everything out of the textbook. Her personality is annoying. She made the class painfully dreadful and uninteresting. The entire class was doing exercises from the textbook and she always made us work with partners because she's too lazy to do anything with us.

Finnicumm is a pretty bad teacher. She just does exercises straight from the textbook and does not put any effort into producing her own material. The test are pretty difficult, considering she doesn't really teach in depth. Going to this class 4 times a week was not fun..

Comment:
I signed up for Spanish Conversation, I got spanish reading comprehension and two minute speech memorization. Not ONCE did we have a class where we actually practiced conversing in spanish, maybe she forgot to read the title of her course. She is disrespectful to students and acts as if she is a middle school teacher.
