Prof. VanderLinde is such an awesome dude. Laid back and funny, made content relevant and interesting. Clear grading criteria. Really wants to help students understand the material and is clearly passionate about social justice. I don't like economics at all but would take him again.

Literally the worst class and worst professor I have ever taken at Calvin college. Seems alright at first until the complexity continues, nothing makes sense. He doesn't teach, manage time, or anything else well. He will talk about how he does yoga. We went over 11 chapters in the entire semester, and did the last two chapters on the last day.

Scott has seriously made me reconsider my major. He only understands himself during lectures. It's a intermediate Macro class but it feels as an Advanced+ class. Notes are barely existent and doesn't rely on his textbook, which is about 12 years too old. Didn't learn anything about Economics for a whole class.

He is a great person, I enjoyed his classes and payed attention easily. However, his notes are very unclear and he can sometimes be hard to follow. You may need to redo your notes a couple of times to understand them.
