This teacher is amazing. She is the best Spanish teacher I have ever had. She does primarily speak only Spanish during class, but does it in a way that is understandable and will explain multiple times if students aren't understanding. There is outside of class work to do and you have to be willing to learn, but overall she is really great.

Merril is great! She's enthusiastic about the topic and really wants you to succeed. She learns each of her students' names quickly and will work with you extensively if you need extra help. She even made us all sorts of treats like la horchata y el platanitos during the food chapter! She made me love Spanish - so keep your 2601 book for 2602!

Not an interesting course subject, but an easy enough class overall. Merrill is always helpful, and an easy grader. Do the work, you'll get the A. Coming to class isn't mandatory but it definitely helps. Prepare for lots of group work and verbal spanish.

She is an amazing professor. She will teach in spanish but often repeats it to make sure the student understands. She is very focused on each individual student's sucess. Syllabus is followed very striclty and few reminders are given. She gets to know her students. Best Spanish teacher on campus in my opinion

I love Dr. Merrill! She teaches the class almost entirely in Spanish, which is great. She speaks at a good speed. I'm glad I'm getting used to hearing a native speaker. Keep the syllabus, because she follows it pretty strictly and doesn't give many reminders of assignments on there. She reviews for tests to make sure everyone understands the topic.

Fun class, pretty easy. She's really helpful and we always do fun activities, which are actually helpful in learning as well. While she does instruct the class in Spanish, she makes sure we all understand. This is my favorite class, and I even took a few years off of Spanish between highschool and college, but I love this class

She is a really nice teacher. Sometimes she tends to repeat and do the same activities over and over again, but she really wants to make sure you understand everything. I would recommend her for intermediate spanish!!

She has been my favorite professor so far at Central. She works so hard to help her students understand spanish. Very good teacher, go to class and you'll do fine on the tests. Be prepared though, she jumps into speaking spanish the first day of class.

I felt Merrill is very easy! She is very sweet, she gives you up to 6 absences then starts deducting points off of final. If you GO TO CLASS (very important in her class), Do your Labs/homework, you will do perfect on tests and final. NO sweat!!
