While the material is not the most interesting, I did enjoy the class and actually switched my major because I realized I loved Anthropology. She's really funny and attempts to make the material more exciting than it is. No technology in class, but you buy a book with all the notes in them so you shouldn't need them.

She's VERY smart, and will be able to help you with almost any question you have, but attendance is a huge grade. Brought me from a D- to a C+. Exams are very difficult if you don't go to class, take good notes, or pay attention. Study! And BUY THE HANDBOOK!

Tests are tough, but if you go to class, pay attention, and study for tests you'll manage at least a B.

Her exams are the interpretation on class notes. A few things are in the book that she doesn't go over in class. Pretty simple class.

If you go to class and study moderately you'll do fine. She does take attendance every day, so going to class is necessary. Buy the workbook! The text book isn't needed, but the workbook will save your life.

She is one of the nicest professors I've ever had. The class wasn't interesting for me whatsoever, but if you go to class, there is a lot lot lot of extra credit that will boost you up. I didn't do better than a B- on her exams and I got a A in the class. she really wants her students to do well so its worth it if you're willing to go to class

Horrible professor. Moves too fast in lecture for notes. Very brief with information. Does not give clear expectations of what we should know for exams, just very general descriptions. Not a hard subject but made studying difficult and just an annoying professor

Hard but she lets you know all expectations going into the class and exams. Very nice lady, knowledgeable and surprisingly funny at times. Absolutely stay up on the course work (readings and attendance) if you want any chance at an A.

worst professor EVER! expects you to be knowledgeable about the topic & expects you to know vast amounts of technical terms & huge amounts of facts & numbers for the exams. Your grade is only 3 exams and attendance is required. I took this b/c I saw people give it a good review & it seemed easy but I dont want people to make the same mistake I did!

The worst professor I have ever had. If you don't mind a teacher who requires attendance, only to park it in front of the podium before reading the powerpoint she later POSTS ONLINE (while still not allowing you to take notes on a laptop), then she's your woman. Grade based on 3 exams (cumulative) and her "discretion".

This class has been my favorite at OU so far. Take her! All the material is interesting and you get to watch a movie at the end of each class that helps put the information into picture. Hopefully I'll be taking another anth class from her in the future. It's a lot of material though, you can't slack off.

she's a great lady, very approachable and engaged. her class is manageable but intellectually challenging. the great thing is that she prints up a book of all the notes for the class and we just follow along each day. the only problem with that is that she's dislexic so there are spelling mistakes everywhere and they sometimes don't make sense.

She reinstated the reading journals...lots of work, but its not that bad and its helpful. Great class! panel projects are NOT as bad as they sound, their quite fun. first exam is very doable if you just study for it (if not, your SOL). second exam is quite interesting....youll know what i mean when you see it.

She doesn't do the reading journals anymore, although the reading load is still really heavy (especially in the beginning of the course). She is an easy grader in this class because there are no clear-cut answers to a lot of the issues in human ecology. She's very helpful and a sweet lady.

This class was really easy; some of the reader articles were extraneous, but the material was interesting and Ann tells fun stories just to make the point memorable in case it's a little too boring.
