I had two different classes with him. Each had four tests, one final, and one or two homework assignments. The final was mostly the same as the four tests. He is an easy grader. I enjoyed his lecture teaching style. Other students seemed bored and complained about the difficulty, but they were not the brightest sort of people (17-18 ACT composite).

We only had four tests and one final. But final is over the four tests. He has great lectures that breaks down the chapters in a condensed form. Have to do a discussion of your choice every week. If you miss taking a test he gives you the chance to take it but it will be in essay form instead of multiple choice. Would definitely take again.

I took this as an online class during a summer session. Lots of reading! We did a couple of small essays and LOTS of discussions. Participate and do your best. You either know it or you don't. The final had one surprise discussion question, but otherwise was multiple choice like the tests in class.

I would definitely recommend taking this class. I didn't know a single thing about Arkansas' history and history isn't my strongest subject but this class was easy enough were you can make an A. The professor is a little disorganized for an online class. You have weekly discussions that consists of a couple of sentences and weekly quizzes.

i basically dropped the class cause i had an f...i studied for the test and everything, but i just couldnt get it, his only grades are test and a project. and his test you have to basically memorize the chapter to make a decent grade...i would not advice taking this teacher

I took his class online and it was the EASIEST class I've ever taken. We only answered 3 questions a week on a discussion board, wrote 2 easy article reviews for the entire semester and took 3 tests (including final). I never used my book. His tests are tough, but he tells you exactly what to study. Everything on his tests come from the lecture.

I think perhaps he should give more test over fewer chapters, instead of one test over four or five chapters at a time. It would give the students a better grade,and might wake up the class,it tends to get boring.

I took his AR History online and enjoyed it, very good class. Then I took his US Govt on campus. He is VERY boring, but a nice person. You definitely have to put your time into studying if you want to do well.

I took his Arkansas History online course. Pretty easy. You have discussions due every week and 2 article reviews to do. Other than that just a midterm and a final. The midterm is online and you take it at home without a proctor. I recommend this class online.

He's a good teacher. However, he's a bit boring. When we started on the Declaration of Independence, he actually recited the first 3 paragraphs from memory. Dr. Brent's okay. STUDY THE NOTES!! His tests are okay. He tries to be funny but, like I said, he's a bit dry.

Dr Brent is a really great teacher. You take notes in class then a few weeks later you take a test over it. His tests are all easy. I admit he is a bit monotone sometimes & he does look @ each person individually throughout the class period. He's easy. Pay attention & you'll do fine.

Online was a great way to take this class. He'll post a lecture and some topics, you take a quiz on the lecture and have to post once to him and once to another student on the topics from the lecture. He didn't make us do any projects, althought I am told he was supposed to. It was a summer course and we ran out of time.
