Comment:
Professor Chapman is a good professor but a very STRICT grader. His classes are all lecture based going over the readings, so take great notes. Dont be discouraged by poor grades on the first draft. He allows UNLIMITED revisions. So meet him and try to understand the expectations. I thought I would end up with a C but I ended up with an A.

Funny professor, but a strict grader. I did not really learn much in this class. All assignments are essays, which he only gives a week to complete.

Professor Chapman makes sure you understand the underlying meaning of the subject within the course and that is exemplary. He help you put on your thinking cap. He lectures heavily and thoroughly with great knowledge and with a little bit humor. He grows on you. I thought he was a great teacher and very knowledgeable. Good teacher. Would take again

took this teacher in spring 2016. No book required, try and pay attentions when he is actually discussing the material. He will start ranting, he does not like trump I know that much. Pretty easy teacher. Trying to take him for my next Phil. course since he does not require books and I know his grading method. Do the work and get an A or B at least

No tests, all written assignments. No guidelines for what the papers should be, except for a fairly vague question. Hands papers back with great feedback and allows rewrites - you WILL need to rewrite. Write down phrases he uses often and use them in your papers. Eccentric guy, weird jokes, boring lectures, fair grader.

I've never enjoyed a class more. He believes buying a book to memorize facts is a waste of money & pointless, and that opening and analyzing your mind & reasoning for belief is more important. He is extremely funny, knowledgable and worldly. Quirky, yes, but what real philosopher isn't? *Take notes of his key phrases on philosophers for essays*

Ross Chapman is a knowledgeable guy, who encourages students to think for themselves and just wants us to acknowledge that their is more for us to learn in the world rather than what we are accustom to. His class is fair. All you have to do is listen, takes notes, and revise your papers. Not to mention his topics are interesting and he is FUNNY !

This professor was highly knowledgeable and teaches what he knows about the subject in the course rather well and was often clear with what he taught. No textbooks were required and there were also no quizzes or exams. There were only writing assignments in which he would assign in which all of them, when turned in, will be graded rather harshly.

I took him my first semester at CCP and I hated him I honestly stopped attending class. If you can sit in class with someone who just sits and rambles for an hour or more then he is definitely your guy. Their is only one test which is the Final but their are numerous homework assignments. Very humorous guy but I can not stand the way he teaches.

I had Chapman for 3 PHI courses at Alvernia and at first I did not like him or his teaching methods but I stuck with the class. I am glad I did. He is pretty easy. Had to do several papers and all he ask is to revise it if you received less then a C or below. Easy A once you learn what he wants you to write about.

This class wasnt to bad, he dooesnt give quizzes or tests, there are only 3 papers and he rarely takes attendance. Take notes and do your papers and you should get a good grade. He is a little socially awkward but he is very amusing.

Great Professor! I honestly don't understand why he has such poor ratings. He lets you revise your papers and you don't have to purchase a textbook. Pay attention in class and you'll get an A.

Everything was going fine until I received my first graded paper; however, he does let you know from the beginning that he expects you to fail the first paper. He also expects you to make-up each assignment at least once. I got an "A", when I thought that I would get maybe a "C".

After taking Chapman's class, I feel i can sum up his methods. Yes, his paper assignments are challenging and engaging and yes, you can revise them infinitely. But I find it inadequate when a professor does not give me any expectations for what should be in my papers or what kind of assignment he is going for. I suggest you brush up on your english
